Fri som en fågel is a sole proprietorship owned by me, Anna Gröhn. It includes a blog where I write about personal finance on http://www.frisomenfagel.com, as well as a Budget Calendar I have created, sold through my webshop at http://www.frisomenfagel.shop. What personal data we collect and why

During the checkout process in the store, the following information is collected:

• Browsing history: Products you viewed are tracked to show you recently viewed items.
• Location information, IP address, and browser type: Used for tax and shipping cost calculation.
• Shipping address: Requested to calculate shipping costs and deliver your order.
• Cookies: Used to remember the contents of your shopping cart.

We also collect billing details, shipping address, email, phone number, payment information (such as credit card details), and any optional account information (username, password). We use this information to:

• Send you information about your account and orders
• Respond to your inquiries, including refunds and complaints
• Process payments and prevent fraud
• Set up your store account
• Meet legal requirements, such as tax invoicing
• Improve our store offerings
• Send you marketing messages if you opt in

We generally retain your personal information only as long as needed for these purposes or where legally required. For example, order information is stored for the legally required period for tax and accounting purposes, which includes your name, email, billing and shipping addresses. We also store any comments or reviews you leave.

MailPoet newsletter and email

If you subscribe to our newsletter or have made a purchase, you will likely receive emails from us. We only send emails that you have opted into or emails related to services you have used. To send emails, we use your name and email address, and we log the IP address used when you signed up to prevent misuse.

We use MailPoet’s service to send emails, which allows us to track email opens and clicks to improve our newsletters. No identifiable data is tracked outside this website, except your email address.

Comments

When visitors leave comments, we collect the information shown in the comment form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent string to detect spam. A hashed version of your email may be sent to Gravatar to check if you have an account there. The Gravatar privacy policy can be found at Automattic’s site. Once your comment is approved, your profile photo is publicly displayed next to your comment.

Media uploads

If you upload images, please avoid uploading images with GPS EXIF data, as visitors to the site can download and extract location details from them.

Cookies

• If you leave a comment, you may opt to save your name, email, and website in cookies for your convenience. These cookies last one year.
• Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie to test if your browser accepts cookies; it expires when you close the browser.
• Logging in creates cookies to remember login status (valid for 2 days) and screen layout preferences (valid for 1 year). “Remember me” extends the login cookie to 2 weeks. Logging out removes the login cookie.
• When editing or publishing a post, an extra cookie stores the post ID and expires after one day.

MailPoet cookies (some require WooCommerce):

• mailpoet_page_view (3,650 days): tracks when a subscriber last visited a page.
• mailpoet_revenue_tracking (14 days): tracks newsletter-driven purchases.
• mailpoet_subscriber (3,650 days): tracks subscriber engagement across forms and purchases.
• popup_form_dismissed_{formId}: tracks if a user dismissed a popup form; expiration varies.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other site directly and may collect data, use cookies, and monitor your interaction, including automated tracking if you have an account and are logged in there.

Who can access your data

Members of our team (site admins and the store owner) can access your order details (products, dates, shipping info) and customer information (name, email, billing/shipping addresses) to fulfill orders, process refunds, and provide support.

Who we share your data with

• If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
• Order details (name, price, quantity, SKU) are shared with Klarna Checkout when used; Klarna returns delivery and billing details which are then stored in WooCommerce.
• WooCommerce “back in stock” notifications store email, registration date, and notification date.
• WooCommerce Gift Cards stores sender/recipient names and emails, and message; only admins can view full gift card details.
• WooCommerce Product Recommendations uses cookies to track viewed and clicked recommended products; the collected data is aggregated and non-identifiable.
• Cookies track viewed/clicked recommendations, expiring after 1 day.

Marketing

If you opt in to marketing, we may use your personal information to provide product updates or marketing communications we believe may interest you. The data may be used internally to automate marketing processes.

Data retention

• Comments and metadata are stored indefinitely so follow-up comments can be verified automatically.
• Registered users’ personal data is stored in their profiles; users can view, edit, or delete their data anytime (except their username). Admins can also view and modify it.
• Communication preferences are stored until you request deletion.
• Communication logs (e.g., marketing, transactional emails/SMS) are stored until deletion request.

Your rights

If you have an account or commented, you may request an export of your personal data or ask us to delete it, except for data we are legally required to retain.

Spam detection

Visitor comments may be checked via automated spam detection services such as Akismet. Collected data includes commenter IP, user agent, referrer URL, and any submitted comment details.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

As we develop our websites and technology, we may update this policy. We recommend reviewing it periodically for any changes.
